Winch Truck Driver
- Duties
- Safely operate a variety of trucks, including tractor-trailers, delivery trucks, roll-off trucks, and tankers
- Transport goods and materials to and from specified destinations
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other equipment as necessary
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance tasks such as checking oil levels, tire pressure, and brakes
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage
- Communicate with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules
- Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements
- Proven experience as a truck driver or similar role
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for commercial driving
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on winch truck systems and equipment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in oil and gas field operations.
- Ability to recognize and mitigate potential hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
- Effective verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members and report issues clearly.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and provide feedback on operational challenges.
- Good physical condition to handle the demands of lifting, securing, and maneuvering heavy equipment and materials.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and rough terrain.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address mechanical issues, logistical challenges, and operational obstacles.
- Ability to make quick and informed decisions in emergencies.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate load securing, equipment maintenance, and compliance with safety standards.
- Careful documentation of operational and maintenance activities.
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience driving refrigerated trailers or tankers is a plus
- Familiarity with operating roll-off trucks or forklifts is an advantage
